Mirror Mirror in the Sky: a disaster adventure (in screenplay format.)

The Russians place an orbiting mirror in space that will reflect sunlight onto their northern cities whose mining operations are hampered by polar nights that last four months out of the year. The mirror tests successfully but there is an accident and the mirror’s light is unintentionally focused down upon Los Angeles—during the day. It is soon learned that by high noon the temperature will be 350 degrees. Los Angeles must be evacuated and it must be done within an hour!

The high concept script is original yet a throwback to the classic disaster films of yesteryear where characters took front stage, special effects being the backdrop. This story possesses the intimacy of The Poseidon Adventure on a scale as grand as Earthquake.
